What is WEEE?
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment ("WEEE") refers to the 6 major categories of Regulated Electrical Equipment ("REE") that are covered under the Producer Responsibility Scheme ("PRS") by the Environmental Protection Department ("EPD") of Hong Kong (with effect from July 2024).
Regulation
Handling of WEEEs by sellers and suppliers is regulated by Chapter 603B [Product Eco-responsibility (Regulated Electrical Equipment) Regulation]
A proper way to handling the waste
Free removal services should be provided when customers purchase a new REE. Regulated removal service is provided by contractors like ALBA HK.
